Va. Lawmakers Float Health Data Privacy and Social Media Bills

HB-2399 would require that healthcare entities give parents or legal guardians access to minors’ medical records through a secure website. Del. Phillip Scott (R) introduced the measure.

Meanwhile, Del. Mark Earley (R) pitched HB-2294, which would prohibit kids younger than 18 from getting social media accounts unless their parents approve. The bill would require platforms to verify users’ ages and parental consent.
