Danish Privacy Watchdog Issues Guidance on Safe Data Transmission
The Danish Data Protection Agency Monday published two security measures relating to the safe transmission of data, according to an unofficial translation. The measures replace some existing guidance on data transmission via e-mail and SMS, an area that can quickly become obsolete, it said.

The guidance describes different ways of protecting data, including the importance of understanding risk in individual parts of a transmission before assessing whether the integrity and confidentiality of the information is adequately protected, the authority said. The new advice specifies where a data controller's liability stops in a data transmission, and includes references to the agency's practices in this area.
