Privacy Rights Clearinghouse Launches Data Breach Chronology 2.0
Privacy Rights Clearinghouse announced Tuesday the launch of Data Breach Chronology 2.0, an updated database for tracking data breach notifications in the U.S.

The updated chronology includes digitized breach notification letters, monthly updates, and coverage across multiple sectors such as healthcare and finance, among other things, said the nonprofit.
“With over 70,000 incidents spanning nearly two decades," the database "brings unprecedented transparency to the fight for improved breach reporting and data privacy protections,” the organization said. “The updated Chronology standardizes tens of thousands of fragmented notifications," it added. The group is "excited to help privacy advocates, professionals, researchers, journalists, and policymakers analyze trends, uncover impacts, and push for stronger protections.”
