NC AG: Did PowerSchool Break Laws in Data Breach?
North Carolina Attorney General Jeff Jackson (D) is investigating PowerSchool over the educational platform’s December data breach that touched more than 62.4 million people across the U.S.

“I’m a parent who uses PowerSchool, so I know what millions of North Carolina families are concerned about with this data breach,” Jackson said Thursday in a press release. “I’m investigating PowerSchool to determine if they broke any laws in this process, and I’ll take additional legal action if necessary.”
PowerSchool didn’t comment Thursday. Responding last month to a class action lawsuit, PowerSchool said it was working to resolve the matter with customers (see 2501220093 and 2501220057).
