SIIA Urges State Lawmakers to Harmonize AI Bills
State lawmakers writing AI bills should seek to align definitions and other elements of their legislation, the Software & Information Industry Association said in a Friday letter to Future of Privacy Forum’s multistate AI policymaker working group.

In addition, states should seek to spur innovation and focus on bad actors who intentionally misuse AI technology, SIIA said. Avoid overregulating AI in education and overly prescriptive requirements on technical documentation, transparency and content labeling, the association added.
