Mo. House Panel Clears Anti-Porn Bill Requiring Age Verification

A Missouri bill mandating age-verification on porn websites won unanimous approval in the state’s House Children and Families Committee on Tuesday.

Members voted 16-0 for HB-236 after a voice vote approved a substitute amendment, which wasn’t immediately available. The original bill would require websites with “material harmful to minors” to verify users are at least 18. Bills requiring age verification are advancing with bipartisan support in several states (see 2502100019).
