Priestley told us earlier that she planned to release comprehensive privacy, data broker and kids’ code measures as three separate bills (see 2412300043). Vermont Attorney General Charity Clark (D) supported including a private right of action during a press conference with Priestley on Jan. 27 (see 2501270025).
“What was previously one bill (2024 VT H.121) -- the only comprehensive data privacy bill that’s been vetoed by a Governor -- has returned in full force x3,” Priestley posted on LinkedIn. Responding to a comment, Priestley added that she is collecting co-sponsors before formally introducing the bills. “This week for sure!”
