Oregon Governor Plans AI Actions Including on Privacy
Oregon finalized a state government AI action plan, Gov. Tina Kotek (D) said Tuesday. An AI advisory council, established by a 2023 executive order, approved the plan that day, the governor’s office said.

“Oregon aims to foster a responsible AI ecosystem that enhances government efficiency, accountability, and public trust, while upholding the highest standards of privacy and ethical integrity,” according to the plan.
It recommends several executive actions, including to “[a]cknowledge and address privacy concerns with leadership and resources to conduct comprehensive privacy impact assessments for AI systems.”
