Buddy AI Tutor App in Compliance With COPPA
Buddy AI is now complying with child privacy law, BBB National Programs’ Children’s Advertising Review Unit (CARU) said Wednesday (see 2502260053).

CARU said the generative AI tutor app was violating the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act and CARU’s Self-Regulatory Guidelines for Children’s Online Privacy Protection. After an earlier announcement Wednesday about its investigation, CARU said Buddy AI addressed the “concerns and made the necessary changes to the app to come into compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines.”
CARU noted a Buddy AI advertiser’s statement saying the company “appreciated the diligence with which CARU performed its investigation” and welcomes “this opportunity to reaffirm our commitment to children’s privacy.”
Buddy AI didn’t comment Thursday.
