Ark. House Overwhelmingly Passes Kids Code Bill

A kids online safety bill passed the Arkansas House in a 92-2 vote Monday. The Senate received HB-1726 and referred it to the Judiciary Committee later in the day. The committee scheduled a hearing on the bill for Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT.

“A covered platform shall take reasonable measures in the design and operation of any product, service, or feature that the covered platform knows is used by minors to avoid any heightened risk of harm to minors caused by such product, service, or feature,” says HB-1726. Covered platforms would be required to set the highest privacy level by default for users that they know are minors.
