Big Mass. Privacy Hearing Set for April 9

Massachusetts lawmakers plan to hear testimony on a plethora of privacy bills during an April 9 hearing, as expected, the Joint Committee on Advanced Information Technology, the Internet and Cybersecurity announced Monday.

Lawmakers will seek consensus on eight comprehensive privacy bills introduced this year in the House and Senate, two state senators told us earlier this month (see 2503170036). The committee hearing includes those bills (S-29, S-33 S-45, S-301, H-78, H-80, H-104 and H-1754), plus narrower privacy measures on children (H-98), location (H-86), biometric and neural data (S-36, S-43, H-96 and H-103), security breaches (H-93, S-39), surveillance pricing (H-99, S-47).

The committee hearing is scheduled from 1-5 p.m.
