Oregon House Committee Clears Vehicle Location Data Bill
The Oregon House Commerce and Consumer Protection Committee unanimously cleared a bill Tuesday with an 8-0 vote that would require carmakers to follow state privacy laws regarding collecting and using personal data from a person's use of a car. The bill now goes to the House floor.

HB-3875, sponsored by Rep. David Gomberg (D), allows Oregonians who buy cars to opt out of data collection and processing, as it changes the threshold of what is considered a covered entity under the state’s Consumer Privacy Act (see 2503190031). The bill has no amendments.
