Ga. Consumer Privacy Bill Seems to Stall in House Despite Passing Senate
With the Georgia General Assembly session ending Friday, the state’s comprehensive privacy bill looks unlikely to pass the legislature this year.

Despite passing the Senate on March 3 and clearing the House Technology Committee on March 27, SB-111 by Sen. John Albers (R) remained pending in the House Judiciary Committee as of Thursday. The Judiciary panel didn’t have a meeting scheduled Thursday or Friday. In addition, the House calendar for the final legislative day, Friday, didn’t include SB-111.
Georgia’s legislature is in the first year of a two-year cycle, so SB-111 could return when lawmakers reconvene in January, or earlier if the governor were to call a special session in the interim.
Albers didn’t comment Thursday.
