The Consumer Technology Association, in a statement late Wednesday, cited its collaboration with other associations seeking an extension, to February 2025. CTA signed the letter with ACT | The App Association, Business Software Alliance, Computer & Communications Industry Association, Pharmaceutical Research and Manufacturers of America and others.
The App Association said in a statement that compliance “will require significant efforts to implement procedures and operational changes, which will be particularly challenging for small business digital economy innovators. For this reason, we are disappointed that DOJ did not extend the effective date for its data transfer rule given the legitimate outstanding implementation concerns raised by our community.”
