Comments Due June 13 on NIST Privacy Framework Update

Comments are due June 13 on a draft update to the National Institute of Standards and Technology’s privacy framework, the agency said Monday.

The update will allow organizations to “use it seamlessly” with NIST’s cybersecurity framework, which was updated in 2024, the agency said.

The draft document is “broadly intended to help organizations manage the privacy risks that arise from personal data flowing through complex information technology systems,” said NIST. “Failure to manage these risks effectively can directly affect individuals and society, potentially damaging organizations’ brands, bottom lines and prospects for growth.”
