Okla. Comprehensive Privacy Bill Nears House Vote

An Oklahoma comprehensive privacy bill edged closer to the finish line this week by clearing the House Commerce and Economic Development Oversight Committee. The committee voted 15-2 Thursday for SB-546 by Sen. Brent Howard (R).

Another House committee advanced the Senate-passed bill on April 9 (see 2504090022). The bill takes a Virginia-style approach to privacy law, though Howard said at the previous hearing that more work was needed before it could go to the floor.
