Calif. Privacy Agency Thanks Newsom for Feedback After Governor Warns Against Overreach
The California Privacy Protection Agency appreciates Gov. Gavin Newsom’s input on the CPPA’s rulemaking about automated decision-making technology (ADMT), the agency said.

In a letter last week, the governor warned that proposed ADMT rules could have unintended consequences, increasing costs and threatening tech innovation in the state (see 2504250002). The board plans to consider the ADMT rulemaking at a meeting Friday.
“The CPPA Board and staff continue to refine the draft regulations and will further discuss them at the May 1st board meeting,” a CPPA spokesperson emailed Friday. “We are grateful for the Governor's Office's continued engagement around this important issue.”
