Connecticut Judiciary Committee Clears Privacy Law Update
A Connecticut bill that updates the state’s comprehensive privacy law took a step closer to passage Friday when it cleared the legislature’s joint Judiciary Committee.

The committee voted 28-9 to advance SB-1356 by Sen. James Maroney (D). It aims to tighten exemptions and add data-minimization rules.
Maroney expects floor votes in May on SB-1356 and a separate AI bill, (SB-2), the senator told us last week at the IAPP Global Privacy Summit (see 2504220040).
