France's CNIL Seeks Modernized Recommendations on Credit Granting
CNIL is looking to update its recommendations regarding credit granting to increase transparency about how financial organizations reach decisions, the French privacy regulator said Friday. CNIL opened a public consultation on a draft framework.

CNIL said the update is timely because it receives many complaints about the subject and since granting credit now involves increasingly complex processing of personal data. The regulator seeks comments by July 18, after which it will adopt a final version of the standard, it said.
