Another Amendment to Oregon Privacy Law Goes to Governor
The Oregon legislature passed a bill that would add location and child data restrictions to the state’s comprehensive privacy law.

The state House voted 56-0 Tuesday to concur with Senate amendments and repass HB-2008. Senators passed the bill last week by a 27-0 margin (see 2505220022). The bill next needs a signature from Gov. Tina Kotek (D).
HB-2008 would prohibit processing, profiling or selling data of a consumer who a controller knows is younger than 16. And it would ban selling precise geolocation data that shows the location of a consumer within 1,750 feet.
