Nebraska Legislature Passes Kids Code Bill; Governor Says He'll Sign
It appears likely Nebraska will soon have an age-appropriate design code law. Gov. Jim Pillen (R) said he will be "proud to sign" LB-504 into law after it passed the legislature 42-7 on Wednesday. Should Pillen sign the measure, it will become effective Jan. 1.

“This bill fights back against far-left tech giants who are trying to get our kids addicted to their apps,” said Pillen in an emailed release late Wednesday. Pillen recommended the legislation back in January (see 2501130039). “By limiting the grip social media has on children, we’re giving parents a chance to fight back.”
