Lithuanian Watchdog Advises Policymakers on Drafting GDPR-Compliant Legislation
The Lithuanian State Data Protection Inspectorate (VDAI) published recommendations for policymakers concerning legislation about data protection and the General Data Protection Regulation. The recommendation offers practical advice to help legislative drafters implement the key requirements of laws regulating personal data protection.
Among other topics, the recommendations deal with the rules applicable to personal data processing, and requirements for processing and storing personal data. They also discuss how to choose the legal basis for lawful data processing, determining the necessary scope of the processing, and issues about publishing personal data.
