Privacy Daily provides accurate coverage of newsworthy developments in data protection legislation, regulation, litigation, and enforcement for privacy professionals responsible for ensuring effective organizational data privacy compliance.

The Privacy Foundations tool provides examples that businesses can apply to help gauge their privacy compliance, the office said. It then recommends actions they can implement in day-to-day operations to boost their privacy culture,

The tool is intended only to provide a basic overview of privacy fundamentals, not to offer a complete assessment, the OAIC said. It also doesn't assess compliance under Australia's 1988 Privacy Act, so public sector agencies and businesses covered by the act should use the OAIC's more in-depth privacy management plan tool, along with expert advice, to assess their privacy maturity, the office added.
