FTC Reopens Claims Period for Users in Epic Games Settlement

In 2023, Epic settled with the FTC for $245 million over allegations it violated the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act by using “dark patterns to trick players into making unwanted purchases and let children rack up unauthorized charges without any parental involvement.”

The FTC said it has issued $200 million in refunds to Fortnite users so far.
