Spanish Watchdog Publishes 5-Year Strategy Roadmap
The Spanish Data Protection Agency will work toward proactive, people-centered data protection adapted to emerging technological challenges over the next five years, it said Thursday.

Its 2025-2030 strategic plan includes priorities such as monitoring disruptive technologies like AI and neurotechnologies. The Spanish regulator also plans to create a privacy laboratory and help small and mid-sized companies with regulatory compliance. It envisions a move toward using AI tools in its internal processes to serve as a model for other public bodies, along with a "firm commitment to transparency and accountability."
The roadmap is the result of 450 comments from citizens, companies, public administrations and third-sector organizations, the agency noted.
