Privacy Daily provides accurate coverage of newsworthy developments in data protection legislation, regulation, litigation, and enforcement for privacy professionals responsible for ensuring effective organizational data privacy compliance.
The Global AI Assurance Sandbox, new privacy-enhancing technologies (PETs) adoption guide and Singapore Standard for Data Protection build on existing efforts to "create space for maximal innovation by companies, while providing the appropriate guardrails so that the public can use these technologies with confidence," the watchdog said.
Personal data-protection standards and the adoption of PETs allow for AI training on data sources without compromising individual privacy, the PDPC said. The Global AI Assurance Sandbox provides tools, resources and a safe environment for organizations to trial responsible AI apps.
The country's existing data protection trustmark certification will be raised to a Singapore Standard and set the benchmark for data-protection excellence, the commission said. It will give certified organizations clearer data-protection requirements in critical areas such as third-party management and overseas transfers, helping them show their commitment to effective data protection.
