EC Finds General-Purpose AI Code Sufficient to Prove AI Act Compliance

The general-purpose AI code of practice adequately allows signatory AI developers to show compliance with the EU AI Act, the European Commission announced in an opinion Friday.

The code calls for the AI Office and Board to regularly evaluate how the general-purpose AI code of practices is working and consider updating it at least every two years.

The EC also published a preliminary list of companies that signed the voluntary code. They include Amazon, Google (see 2507300006) and Microsoft (see 2507310059).
