UK Information Office Fines Police Investigator for Mishandling Sensitive Data
An investigator for the U.K. police complaints watchdog was fined 200 pounds ($266) after pleading guilty to unlawfully obtaining sensitive personal data, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) reported Monday.

Mohammed Ejaz worked for the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC), which investigates the most serious complaints and conduct matters involving the police, the ICO said.
Ejaz emailed his private Hotmail account a message containing restricted, sensitive information, including recordings of emergency calls that were referred to the IOPC. The materials were related to an incident that resulted in death, the watchdog said.
