Irish DPC Probes Privacy Issues at Children's Health Facility
Potential data protection issues in one Children's Health Ireland (CHI) facility prompted an inquiry by the Irish Data Protection Commission, the DPC announced Thursday.

The watchdog said it became aware of potential issues around "the physical safety and security of children's health records" at the site of the private healthcare organization's facility in Tallaght from several sources, including protected disclosures it received and a breach notification the facility submitted to the DPC.
The DPC conducted an unannounced site inspection July 16. The formal investigation will check CHI's compliance with General Data Protection Regulation rules, particularly those related to "the security of personal data and CHI's processes for managing physical records" at the site, the DPC added.
