NetChoice Calls for Federal Privacy Law
Congress should pass a federal privacy law that preempts state measures, NetChoice said Thursday in a series of policy recommendations for lawmakers at both levels as the tech association issued its "Digital Safety Shield for America."

“Congress should pass a nationwide data privacy law that preempts conflicting state laws and respects the many beneficial applications of data that Americans use every day,” the report said.
NetChoice also recommended investment in law enforcement for kids’ online safety, enforcement of existing laws against child predators, educational tools for schoolchildren and parents and narrowly tailored rules to target AI-related abuse.
