Law Firms Examine Breach of Health Care Provider Impacting More Than 150K
Retina Group of Florida suffered a data breach that may have leaked the personal information of more than 150,000 patients, Schubert Jonckheer said Thursday.

Several other law firms are also investigating a potential class action against Retina Group, including Srourian, Lynch Carpenter and Markovits Stock. Retina Group, an ophthalmology practice that operates 23 retina clinics in Florida, didn't comment.
On Sept. 3, Retina Group notified the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services' Office for Civil Rights (OCR) of a data breach, but didn't disclose when the incident occurred or what was exposed, Schubert Jonckheer said.
The OCR website reported that 152,691 individuals were affected in a hacking/IT incident on a Retina Group network server. The office is investigating the breach.
