The Maine legislature opted to extend the session at Wednesday’s deadline. Henderson is the author of LD-1088, which takes a notice-and-consent approach based on the common state model (see 2505300062). LD-1088 failed in the House 77-70, was held and “should be taken up by the Senate when we reconvene next week,” she said.

Henderson said her understanding is that LD-1822, a competing privacy bill introduced by House Judiciary Chair Amy Kuhn (D) and Senate Judiciary Chair Anne Carney (D), will be carried over to the second regular session in 2026.
